IV Hydration Safety

You may have heard about the incident in Texas where a client died of sudden cardiac death after receiving an IV infusion at a local medical spa. While there has been no causative evidence reported, thus far, of the IV treatment contributing to her death, the case brings up many valid safety issues. If you are considering IV therapy, we at élan MED SPA want to assure you that we practice at the highest levels of safety.

First, unlike reports regarding the Texas medical spa, our protocols are thoroughly reviewed and approved by our very experienced Medical Director and APN staff. Our Nursing staff each have decades of experience in critical care and acute care. Second, our IV therapy services are only provided by experienced nurses who conduct a medical history to determine each client’s suitability for therapy. Third, reports are that the Texas medical spa infused fluids with high levels of the electrolyte potassium, which can be dangerous without proper laboratory monitoring. We do not offer this as a service as this should be only administered in a monitored environment.

Your health and safety are of the utmost importance at élan. We assure you that you are in the safest hands with us and can feel confident receiving your IV therapy here.
